Brisbane graphic designer · AU + UK
I’m Finbar, a Brisbane graphic designer who sweats the small stuff.
I design brand identities, publications and websites for businesses across Australia and the UK. My background is print and editorial, so type, grids and the small details are where I’m strongest, and I bring the same eye to everything on screen.
I trained at Ravensbourne University in London and the University of Brighton, then moved to Australia and started working as finbar studio. Most jobs begin with the brand, the logo, colour and type, then run into whatever’s next: a publication, a website, a campaign.
Away from client work I tinker with creative coding, the interactive and generative kind this site is built from. Leaning on Claude for the technical side keeps me in the design rather than buried in code, and a fair bit of what I work out there ends up useful for clients too.

How I work
First principles
I strip a brief back to what it actually needs, then build the design up from there, rather than starting from a template or whatever's trending.
Tech as a lever
I lean on the latest tools to clear the technical barriers, so the time goes into the design and the craft instead of fighting the software.
Genuinely care
I care about the work landing right about as much as I care about getting paid for it, and that tends to show up in the details.

Kind words
“Finbar was great to work with from start to finish. He took the time to understand what KinAya needed, communicated clearly throughout, and delivered something that felt cohesive. The branding and website genuinely felt like one vision. The accessibility features he suggested, like the text resizer, showed he was thinking beyond just aesthetics. Handover was smooth and we felt confident managing the site ourselves after his walkthrough. Highly recommend.”
“Finbar nailed the visual language from the first round. Each single ended up with its own colour and feel, but they still read as one set when you line them up. He listened to what each track was about and translated it into the artwork without me having to over-explain. The covers raised the bar for how the releases were received.”
